The Problem: Effectively Protecting a Flawless Car Paint
When we first saw this spectacular 1951 Chevy 3100 ‘Stepside’ truck arrive at our facilities, we were all knocked out by its beautiful paint job. The striking metallic green paint combined with the awesome chrome accents and ornaments definitely gives a bold personality to this Chevy 3100 pickup.
After a closer inspection, our team at Graphene Auto Protection realized that it was not only the exterior but also the rest of the vehicle was green-colored. The cabin, the engine bay, the cargo bed, the metallic green was literally everywhere.
We were quite clear that the owner had spared no resources in making the paint finish of this pickup a show winner. Creative Visions definitely succeeded. It is a first-class job, impeccable in every way, flawless and professional.
A finish like that of this painting deserved without a doubt the best protection treatment on the market. And Graphene Auto Protection experts were going to take care of that. We were going to make sure that all surfaces received lasting protection that would preserve this magnificent painting for many years to come.
But not only that. We were committed to further enhance the deepness of the paint and take the paint finish to the next level.
Challenges: Applying Graphene Coating on Multiple Surfaces
As we mentioned earlier, the paint job of this pickup was not limited to the outside. Applying the graphene coating in this vehicle was not going to be a routine job and for that reason, we had no doubts in documenting it as a case study.
The challenge that this Chevy brought us was to achieve a uniform protective layer on all surfaces, no matter how difficult it could be. And definitely, there were difficult areas.
While it is true that the exterior offered us the comfort of having free space to move it was equally true that we had to protect many areas. The beautiful front grill, the ornaments, the multiple chrome accents, badges. This truck has many chromed/polished elements and each one had to be preserved.
Then we had the engine bay. If you take a look at the pictures you will notice that literally every component was either chromed or polished. The air filter, radiator hose, air conditioning compressor, alternator, valve covers, radiator, you name it. The attention to detail in this pickup is so impressive that even car body bolts were chromed/polished.
We had to be up to the challenge and offer superior protection to this area without affecting its detailing job.
The Solution: A Mighty Graphene Protection Layer Applied by Our Professional Team
At Graphene Auto Protection our expert team is prepared to deal with any challenge. Once we evaluated the strategy for this 1951 Chevy 3100 we passed it through our standard process:
- Our prep team thoughtfully Dismantled, washed and clay barred the vehicle to get rid of dirt, grime, and contamination.
- Then we used the paint depth gauge and the lamps to inspect and document the condition of each panel
- Proper color correction was performed using a 4 step process in order to give this beauty it’s deep, non-swirl look it has now.
- The Graphene Auto Protection team applied the first layer of treatment, waited for about an hour to let it settle and finished the job applying the second graphene coating layer.
As usual, after applying the second graphene layer we let cure for 12 hours and then measure paint depth again. For Graphene Auto Protection, documenting the coating thickness is crucial to give us the data needed to monitor how much better it is than Ceramic Coatings.
